In order to have profitable e-business you need to consider software. I have seen many organizations purchase software only to have it become out dated and  a cost center. You need to consider present and future needs and market trends before acquiring new software for your organization. Here is the software we use at E-Business Juncture LLC and why we use the software.

  • Open Office. Open Office is a beautiful office suite. The suite can be installed on Windows, Linux, Unix, and Mac OS, this means portability and familiarity of software.   • Thunderbird. Thunderbird is a very versatile email client. Many of its functions can be configured to use Microsoft Exchange server. To find out more about Thunderbird visit: Thunderbird .
  • Firefox. Firefox is one of the most popular web browser on the market today. It can be installed on most operating systems. Firefox is a self contained web browser, so it is excellent for testing web pages and web-based applications. For more information on Firefox visit:Firefox
  • Joomla. This site is created and maintained using Joomla, a content manager. It is easy to install and administrate.   • MySQL. We use MySQL for our backend database concerns. MySQL has a Query and Administrator GUI, but is extremely managable from the command line. For more information please visit: MySQL Organization.
  • Ubuntu Linux 8.10. Our preferred operating system is Linux. Ubuntu Linux is a very nice flavor and can be installed within Microsoft Windows Vista. The GNOME desktop provides the look and feel of other desktops as well as providing many tools. For more information please visit: Ubuntu Web Site.
  • Windows Vista Business Edition. We enjoy the multimedia capabilities of the operating system. The operating system also supports legacy versions of Microsoft Office in addition to support the other software listed on this page. For more information please visit: Microsoft.

  • Zen Cart. We use Zen Cart for our store. It is easily configured provides the flexibility to implement taxing and payment schema's. For more information please visit: Zen Cart Organization.
  • World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). W3C provides many tutorials and validation applications.Validation enables your web pages to be compatible with compliant browsers, so you know your page will be rendered the way you expect every time. For more information please visit: W3C Organization.

  • Nagios. I have configured a nagios environment to monitor over 400 servers and 2700 processes for a major retailer.
